Statewide Centers of Justice and Mercy

Catholic Charities Maine–  This Center of Justice and Mercy is dedicated to  creating, administering, and advocating for programs and services that reach out and meet the critical human service needs of Maine.  They offer adult and children’s mental health services, child care and visual services, dental and orthodontic services, elderly and disabled services, home supplies and a food bank, interpreting and translation services, a parish social ministry, refugee and immigration services, substance abuse services, and a variety of other services.

Maine Council of Churches– This Center of Justice and Mercy consists of nine denominations, representing over 550 churches, and thousands of congregants throughout Maine.  They seek to inspire congregations and persons of faith to unite in good works that build a culture of justice, compassion, and peace. They are leading Maine in the battle for economic justice, environmental justice, health care reform, the Maine religious campaign against torture, clean elections, and other important causes.

Maine Equal Justice Partners– This Center of Justice and Mercy seeks to find solutions to poverty and improve the lives of low-income individuals and families in Maine.  They do this important work through public policy advocacy in the legislature and with governmental agencies, legal representation and impact litigation on systemic issues, statewide outreach and training on issues affecting people with low-income and the support that can help them prevent or move out of poverty.
